New Patient Information
If you are a new patient to our practice we welcome you. We also want you to know that you will have ample help during the time you prepare for and recovering from surgery.
Making a decision
The first and most important step in the process of preparing for surgery is the decision making step. We know that it may be difficult to commit to surgery, especially if you have never had surgery before. We will make the process as comfortable as possible for you by providing complete information about our results, and by presenting the scientific evidence for recommended treatments. We believe that modern surgery has to be non-invasive, patient-centered, and innovative, and it needs to be delivered compassionately and efficiently.
Your office visit
If you are able to, please download the General Surgery Questionnaire or the Bariatric Questionnaire (for weight loss surgery patients) prior to your first office visit and bring the completed form with you.
During your visit, you will receive valuable information about your surgery and our laparoscopic surgery program. Dr. Zaré will review your history and any prior work up. He will perform a complete physical exam. He will then discuss treatment options most suitable for you. If surgery is indicated, we will make every effort to schedule surgery within 1-2 weeks following your visit.
Preparing for hernia surgery
Most patients will be required to submit a simple urine sample prior to surgery if they have not already done so. Benjamin, our program co-ordinator will arrange various elements of your care and help you prepare for surgery.
Surgery and follow-up
In the midst of the complex system of healthcare, we believe in delivering personalized care. That means you will receive the full attention of each member of our surgical team throughout the time you are under our care. Dr. Zaré will personally supervise every aspect of your surgery and hospital stay and provide follow up. We welcome you again and look forward to your first visit with us.
